Exploring Winterthur

Tuesday, August 12 2008

I had a spare hour this afternoon and wanted to enjoy the fresh air. So I went to Winterthur. One of the perks of living in Wilmington, Delaware is that we are incredibly close to many amazing places to visit. Both Philly and Baltimore are less than hour away (what? I drive fast!), and New York is just over two hours away (or a quick train ride), as is Washington D.C. Winterthur is about 15 minutes away.

First stop was the Museum...love the amazing architecture and beautiful light in there...

Next stop was outside to walk the grounds a bit before heading over to the lovely reflecting pool. I had so much fun processing these images - I'm a huge fan of vivid colors so these had some definite play time.

Have you ever had a moment where you just stopped and thought "Wow!". I had several of those moments today when I was walking around the Winterthur grounds. The sun was shining, the weather was beautiful. With the exception of a few other passing visitors it was fairly quiet. It was such a peaceful experience to spend some time with myself, by myself, just me and my camera.

lots of nice shots, watch your horizons though. Cheers

Hi Kevin! Thanks so much for visiting and for the comment! I get so excited to see people finding my site! I'm not sure what you mean about watching my horizons...I'm going to try google-ing it unless you happen to pop back and can let me know what you meant!
