Winterthur Wedding: Miranda and Chip

Sunday, October 12 2008

A week ago today, Miranda and Chip were married outside of The Galleries of Winterthur Museum and Country Estate in Wilmington, Delaware.

This was truly a unique wedding and reception because Miranda pulled it all together using vendors from Fox Island, Washington all the way to Lexington, South Carolina. Vendors that played a part in the celebration included:

  • Floral Design: Laura Graff – New York, New York
  • Table Runners: Hand woven by Amy Hoseck in Minneapolis, Minnesota from organic cotton and metallic yarns.
  • Birds Nests: Tiny nests were hand made by Leanne Pendleton of Canton, OH. Leanne is a fiber artist specializing in minuscule needle felted birds.
  • Wren Eggs: The speckled wren eggs in Leanne’s nests were hand painted by Melinda Cunningham in Lexington, South Carolina.
  • Grapevine Bird Nests: Crafted by Scott Rohrdranz of Happy Quails to You in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Search “Happy-quils-to-you” on Ebay.com
  • Pressed Autumn Leaves: These were scattered around the tables and sealed the invitations and came from Rachel Detwiler’s backyard in Fox Island, Washington

Miranda and Chip,

Thank you so much for including me in your celebration! Miranda, your attention to detail is amazing and I love how you used artisans to pull together your special day! I wish you all the love and happiness in the world and hope to see your art one day in New York.

Take care,

The pics are wonderful. I was hoping to see the last one on the staircase of all the guests with Miranda and Chip.

This was one of the most beautiful weddings I had ever been to. I'm so glad that Monica caught some pictures of the detail that was so apparent in this wedding. Even though a diverse community of people from all over were there the details made everything feel warm and personal. It made me feel that not only was it a celebration of Chip and Miranda, it was a celebration of their friends and family too!
